Klashnekoff – Murda (Demo) prod. Harry Love

This ain’t new gold per se, but it is unheard by most. UK veteran producer, Harry Love has released the original demo version of Klashnekoff’s huge anthem ‘Murda’. If you were around the UK hip hop scene at the time, you know how big this tune was, and still is, to the community. Harry, at the time, was consistently producing banger after banger for the best MCs across the land, and Klashnekoff was arguably the best UK MC around. The scene has changed a lot since then, but you can still appreciate the quality of the music by hearing two legendary UK artists in their prime.

Skittles – In For Me

Screen Shot 2013-08-28 at 11.02.04

Skittles is one of Manchester’s biggest movers, right now. Signed to Estate Recordings and constantly touring off the back of his debut album ‘Poor with £100 Trainers’, Skittles is making sure the world knows who he is. This is the latest video from his album and is filmed by Manchester badman, Scott Hallows. It features well known Manchester heads Tonn Piper and Strategy and also gives you an extensive tour of Market Street.

Hashfinger – Lessons

This Yorkshire-based producer has been slowly but surely producing incredible hip hop instrumentals for some time now. We first featured his music back in January 2012’s episode, and since then he has gone from strength to strength. Expect classic sounding beats with that traditional boom bap rhythm and the slight melancholic mood, associated with UK hip hop production from the last 10 years or so.

Knxwledge – Ovrstnd.B.Sde_

There’s one producer who constantly and consistently releases dope instrumental projects – Knx (Knxwledge). This new project, released today, is no different. As per usual, this isn’t free – just like any other Knxwledge release. But, for the price of only $10 you can cop yourself some high quality hip hop instrumentals, with that distinctive Knx sound.

Hexs (Hexsagon) & Miranda – H&M

A little taste of Arizona hip hop for y’all. This comes courtesy of two of the state’s favourite underground artists: Hexsagon and Mr Miranda. This EP features synth-fuelled production from Hexs and the usual, high quality lyrics from Mr Miranda.

Ramo Dajaneiro feat. Da Genius – Isaac

Ramo Dajaneiro and Da Genius, both Detroit residents, go hard over this Isaac Hayes flip. There’s no room for a chorus because this is strictly about lyricism.

Ezko – No Conversation (Prod. Hassani Kwess)

Ezko is a dope MC, of whom we are big fans. This new track is produced by Hassani Kwess, and features some heavy drums, powerful bass and a little of that 90s style chanting that made the era so great. Add to that Ezko’s wicked rhymes and you have got yourself a super nice track.

Air Adam Photography Presents… Manchester Marauders Exhibition

It’s been a couple of years in the works, and my boy, Air Adam has put in one hell of a shift in bringing this project to fruition. Manchester Marauders is a celebration of Manchester hip hop, through the lens of the scene’s most renowned photographer. Adam managed to gather together forty-nine members of the Manchester hip hop community and capture their images in order to create a piece paying homage to A Tribe Called Quest’s classic album Midnight Marauders.

The work will be unveiled at the opening night of the exhibit at Manchester’s 2022nq gallery, where 12″ x 12″ prints will be available to purchase. There will also be DJs on the night, including – we are honoured to say – NouGold’s DJ A-UP, Lee Majors (More Bounce) and more. Furthermore, there will by a cypher on the night, which will consist of the Marauder MCs, themselves.

(Manchester Marauders teaser by Gez Miley)

As well as the option to purchase a print, Adam has screen printed a very limited run of Manchester Marauder tees. If you would like to purchase one, contact Adam through his Facebook page.

A pat on the back and a round of applause for Air Adam for not only creating this event but for being  an essential pillar of the Manchester hip hop community.

Reppatwa – August 19th (prod. by Motel Eola)

Screen Shot 2013-08-22 at 23.16.39

He’s a young, London based MC but he ain’t no rookie. If you haven’t heard his name yet, here’s Reppatwa. Here’s a nice taste of what he has to offer, on a track that was written and recorded in the space of a day – that’s a twenty-four hour turn over from when he received the beat from Motal Eola.

Rebel Allianz – Beats N Rhymes

Some super nice jazzy, boom-bap hip hop from Rebel Allianz. The crew have made this project a truly global one, with the tracks being recorded in the USA, Japan and the Philippines. The project is high quality from start to finish and at a minimum cost of $1 it definitely deserves backing.
