Hashfinger – Lessons

This Yorkshire-based producer has been slowly but surely producing incredible hip hop instrumentals for some time now. We first featured his music back in January 2012’s episode, and since then he has gone from strength to strength. Expect classic sounding beats with that traditional boom bap rhythm and the slight melancholic mood, associated with UK hip hop production from the last 10 years or so.

Buscrates 16-Bit Ensemble – Cut Out The Lights [Funkee Drummer]

Buscrates is one of my favourite producers, who constantly delivers that mellow vibe I love in beats. He’s taken one of, if not, the most famous samples in hip hop and flipped it into something almost unrecognisable. Those distinct drum patters are still there, but the vibe has been completely transformed by one of the dopest beat makers in underground hip hop.

Omas – Taken Over

Omas (DJ and Producer)

Omas is the DJ for TNC as well as a producer in his own right. I first met this charming young chap when we were promoting our own hip hop nights in Manchester, way back in 2005. Anyway, this new joint is a free download, available from Blunted Astronaut Records, as a taster to get you in the mood for Omas’ 7″ release on their label later in the year. The killer drumbreak and the stupid-nice samples are crafted together in expert fashion and is a must download.
